由Madhouse制作、川尻善昭监督的《Highlander：The Search for Vengeance》的DVD，将于6月5日在北美发售。《Highlander》，是于1986年最初以电影形式在美国公映的SF系列作品，迄今为止发展成5部电影版、众多电视系列和小说。此次川尻善昭监督的作品，在系列作品中是雄壮的“Highlander·Saga”中的一篇，该系列的动画版在1994年被制作。

　　《Highlander》系列作品的主要剧情，是围绕着一群长生不死的武士之间的正邪斗争而展开的。从1986年到2000年，由克里斯多夫·兰伯特（Christopher Lambert）领衔主演的《挑战者Highlander》系列影片拍摄了四集，其中第2集《挑战者2：天幕之战》曾经于上世纪90年代初在国内公映过，而第4集《挑战者之终极战》则有香港功夫明星甄子丹出演并担任武术指导。除了电影外，《Highlander》系列还曾被搬上电视，并在去年出版了漫画。
